Top Colt Pacer Dies; Scratched From Future Jug Wagering Pool

DELAWARE, OH--Space Ghost, who died on July 15 as the result of endotoxemia, was scratched from the list of horses available for wagering in the first Little Brown Jug future wagering pool before betting  opened today (Thursday) at 12-noon.  

Space Ghost won the $175,000 New Jersey Sires Stakes Final on June 20 at The Meadowlands and finished second on June 28 in the Jersey Cup, which was his last start before his death. The colt was owned by Rodney Mitchell of Dover, DE.  Space Ghost had been listed at 50-1 in the morning line.

The future wagering pool will be offered at racetracks and internet sites through 11:30 p.m. Sunday, July 27.  Future wagering will be offered at Tioga Downs, Vernon Downs, Racing and Gaming Services, Inc., Harrington Raceway, Hazel Park, Penn Gaming’s Telebet and Ebetusa.com, Raceway Park, Northfield Park, The Meadows, TRNI, Youbet.com and Plainridge Race Course.
